XFLAM insulated panel, used as external cladding providing an engineered seismic solution.
Bluescope NZ’s Maxx steel was manufactured to the exterior face of all exposed panels to satisfy the environmental conditions of the airport location.
With an overall floor area of 14000m2 including offices, the XFLAM panel was used to fit out the temperature controlled environment areas. These included a 9000m2 chiller, 2000m2 freezer and a 600m2 ELA. XFLAM panel was the preferred choice of panel for all parties as it ticked all the boxes in relation to insurance, fire, thermal, span capacity and cost. Importantly, as the XFLAM panel was supplied in continuous long lengths - any potential for weather tightness issues was eliminated and the continuity of an effective vapour barrier was ensured.
